This paper will make a strong case for Hong Kong as one of the world's only true cosmopolitan centres. A premium will be placed on its history and the dominance of the economy. The study will move to look at how identity in Hong Kong may have changed, paying particular attention to the English population. The final sections of the paper will mesh this authors own research with the existing body of knowledge. Surveys and other field work have been conducted in order to gain a primary account of the situation.
